Unrest continues at the Pentagon, the US defense headquarters. Amid the unrest, another Pentagon official has resigned. CNN reported this information on Friday.
The last Pentagon official to leave is the country’s deputy defense minister. Her name is Alexis Rose.
A U.S. defense official told CNN on Thursday that Alexei had resigned.
Alexei is the last official to leave the Pentagon amid ongoing unrest.
President Donald Trump’s cleansing campaign began at the Pentagon with the dismissal of Mark Asper from the post of Secretary of Defense.
Trump announced the dismissal of Asper in a tweet last Monday. Christopher Miller, head of the National Counterterrorism Center, took over as defense minister immediately after Asper was fired.
The next day, on Tuesday, James Anderson, one of the Pentagon’s top officials, resigned. Anderson was the acting undersecretary of the Department of Defense’s policy department.
The Pentagon’s chief of staff, Jane Stewart, also resigned Tuesday.
Retired Navy Vice Admiral Joseph Kornan has resigned as Under Secretary of Defense for Intelligence, another defense official said.
